Nitric Oxide’s Role
4 CE hours possible for DCs
Nitric oxide or NO is considered one of the most important molecules produced in humans. This simple molecule controls oxygen and nutrient delivery to every cell in the body, it regulates cellular communication and even has anti-microbial properties that protect our body from invading pathogens. In fact, this molecule is so important it was named “Molecule of the Year” by Science Magazine in 1992 and in 1998 a Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded to the three US Scientists responsible for its discovery.
Dr. Nathan Bryan will provide comprehensive information and research on nitric oxide and its relationship to heart health, as well as overall health. In this class, you will learn how chiropractors can assist in enhancing a patient's NO function, how to accurately evaluate and assess a patient's NO production, and how to provide protocols and treatments to improve the patient's overall function and health.
Dr. Bryan is an international leader in molecular medicine and nitric oxide biochemistry.
Specifically, Dr. Bryan was the first to describe nitrite and nitrate as indispensable nutrients required for optimal cardiovascular health. He was the first to demonstrate and discover an endocrine function of nitric oxide via the formation of S-nitrosoglutathione and inorganic nitrite.
Dr. Bryan has been involved in nitric oxide research for the past 18 years and has made many seminal discoveries in the field. These discoveries and findings have transformed the development of safe and effective functional bioactive natural products in the treatment and prevention of human disease and may provide the basis for new preventive or therapeutic
Dr. Bryan has published a number of highly cited papers and authored or edited 5 books.
